New to Wakefield

Visiting a new church can be intimidating for some people. Our desire is for your experience with us to be as positive as possible. Whether you decided to return or not, we want you to feel welcomed while you are with us. Below is a bunch of information about our church that will be helpful to first time visitors.

Service times
We offer two worship services on Sunday mornings, 9:45am and 11:00am. For a description of these worship services click here WAKEFIELD WORSHIP

In addition to large group worship celebrations on Sunday mornings we also offer opportunities for Group Bible Study. These classes meet at 9:45am and 11:00am concurrent with our worship services. We have classes during both time slots for all ages of adults and children. For a complete listing of our Group Bible Studies click here. GROUP BIBLE STUDY.

Location/directions
Wakefield Baptist Church is very easy to find, especially if you are familiar with the Wakefield Community. We are located at 13029 Falls of Neuse Rd where it connects to Old Hy 98. We are directly under the water tower.

From Capital Blvd turn west onto Highway 98 until you reach a stop light at Thompson Mill Road. Turn left onto Thompson Mill Road and proceed until you reach a stop sign. Turn right at the stop sign onto Old Highway 98. Turn left onto Falls of Neuse Road. Wakefield Baptist Church will be on the right.

Where to park
Just look for the signs that say "Visitor Parking" located behind the main building. If these are full finding a parking spot at our church can be a little tricky at times. We would suggest that you arrive in the parking lot at least 15 minutes before start time so that you can find a space.

Where to enter
If you have children we suggest that you enter the door located behind the main building beside the main parking lot. This will place you directly in our children's greeting area. There will be trained childcare workers to help you with your children or to direct you to the worship center. However, you may enter any door as we have greeters waiting to help you find your way.

What to expect
Expect to be greeted and welcomed with warmth and friendliness. Expect to be challenged by the truth found in the Bible. Expect not be judged for your background or past failures. Expect us to be unimpressed with religious ritualism. Expect God to speak to you. Expect to sense the Holy Spirit working in your life. Expect to find genuine people with a genuine love for others and for Jesus.

How to dress
There is no dress code. You will see some people in jeans and others wearing suits and ties. A great number of people dress "business casual." We don't care about the style of your clothes. We are more focused on your spiritual needs. Come as you are.

How to connect
Even if this is your first visit, the best way to get to know us is to attend a Group Bible Study. This helps you to get to know us in a small group setting. In addition, check the worship brochure for opportunities to be involved. There is always an event coming up or an opportunity for you to serve.

Who can join
Anybody can join Wakefield Baptist Church, but there are a few prerequisites and requirements of membership. The most important requirement for membership is that you be a disciple of Jesus. This means that there has been a time in your life where you were born again and have been baptized.

If you are interested in knowing more about membership at Wakefield Baptist Church, contact the church office. Also, be sure to attend the New Members/Inquirers Class described below.

New members/inquirers Class
