FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I give online? Click the "Give Online" button and follow the prompts to create an account and set up your contribution.
Why should I give online? It's a personal preference, but here are a few of the benefits we hear frequently. - It's a step of faith...deciding in advance to give faithfully.
- It helps simply life...no trying to remember whether or not you've given this month.
- It allows you to give consistently...even when you're not at church.
Who manages the online giving program? Our online giving program is managed by NCS Envelope Services. NCS is a company that specializes in providing contribution envelopes to churches across the country. Since Wakefield does not directly manage the on-line giving, we have no access to personal bank accounts or statements. NCS provides us with contribution statements, not bank account numbers or routing numbers. Personal information is kept confidential by NCS. How secure is my on-line donation? Envelope Service's E-Giving security states the following: "There are no third parties involved with the E-Giving process, and we will never sell your client information.
All transactions use 128bit encryption verified through Verisign Corporation and the servers are dedicated strictly to E-Giving sitting behind multiple firewalls. We also have a dedicated Internet connection to give you maximum up-time.
Every connection and transaction is logged and stored in the event of any suspicious activity."
How do Bank Drafts work? A Bank Draft is an electronic funds transfer (EFT) that draws the requested amount directly from your bank account and deposits it directly into Bay Leaf's bank account. The EFT is made through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network operated by the U.S. Federal Reserve and is a highly reliable and efficient system. Before giving by bank draft, you must review and agree to a Draft Authorization Agreement.
What credit cards to you accept? We accept on-line submissions for VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
What are the advantages of recurring donation requests? Recurring donation requests allows you to have a stated amount automatically drawn from your bank account or charged to your credit card weekly, biweekly, monthly or quarterly. It provides not only a secure, paper-less and convenient option, but allows you to establish a disciplined giving pattern.
When will my donation be drawn from my account or charged to my credit card? E-Giving will process your transactions on a daily basis* and submit them for final processing within 24 hours of when it was entered or had the transaction scheduled to execute.
We understand that it is important to know what the status of your transaction is. Your transaction will be immediately registered in the E-Giving system and made available to you from your E-Giving pages.
*Transactions will be submitted on the next available business day during weekends and bank or company holidays.
Without a canceled check or receipt, how do I document my contribution? The Financial Office at Bay Leaf Baptist Church mails quarterly and year-end contribution statements which serve as sufficient documentation for IRS tax purposes.
How do I change the account or credit card my recurring donation is being charged to? Click on the "Give Online" and login to your account. At the Main Menu, click on View/Edit Member Profile.
How much should I give? Prayerfully consider what God wants you to give and what the Bible says about giving. Also, use the E-Giving Donation Calculator to assist you. Due to transaction costs, we request any gifts to be at least $25.00 unless paying for an event registration.
What can I place in the offering plate? There is a feature that allows you to select an "E-Giving Envelope" that can easily be printed that displays your electronic contribution and the fund to which it should be applied.
Who do I talk to if I have more questions? Contact our church office 919.570.5777 and we'll be glad to answer any other questions you may have.
